The Cattle and the Sheep
© Julie Ruffell
The cattle see nothing
The deluded are all sheep
It's crashing down around their ears
Wolves and lions are closing in
But they didn't see them enter the field
They don't see them now
Jaws snarling, mouths salivating
Teeth so ready to bite
They chew their cud
Blissfully unaware
Gouging out their own eyes
They won't see the end
They'll only feel the teeth
If there was never any hope of escape
Have they really taken the wrong path?
Maybe ignorance is blissful as they say
The brain a villain
Knowledge the doorway to insanity
Scoop your brains out with a spoon
