What's in Your Heart?

Can anyone really claim
To understand another's soul?
Can the closet friends
Know all about the other?
Or the greatest lovers
Know each other inside and out?
How can others claim to know your heart,
Your desires, needs, wishes and dreams?
Does anyone truly understand
Their own heart?
Our emotions can consume and overwhelm
But if we did know our hearts
Should we not be able to control them?
