My Dark Life

Not so long ago
I was a creature of evil
I killed, spilling the blood
Of many brave soldiers
I lead an army of darkness
We swept through the land
Like a wave of death
Where we went, people died
I tried not to kill women and children
A warrior must not fight the defenseless
My commander betrayed me
Killing women, children, even babies
In town, a fire broke out
Almost everyone was killed
A child survived
She became consumed with rage
Her life in shambles

I may be good now
Fighting evil
But I don't sleep at night
My tortured soul is kept awake
By the demons in my nightmare
